Pennsylvania Criminal Appeals
If you or a loved one have been convicted of a criminal offense, the outcome may not be set in stone -- on a case by case basis, your conviction may be overturned, or your sentence reduced, depending on the circumstances. There are certain grounds for appeal that must be met in, such as:
- Ineffective assistance of counsel
- Misconduct from law enforcement during the original trial (for instance, tampering evidence, juror or prosecutor misconduct)
- Serious errors made by lower courts
Filing an appeal is time sensitive, as you have to do so within 30 days of the original conviction or sentencing.
Wiseman, Schwartz, Cioschi and Trama can help you navigate this oftentimes confusing process to see if you are eligible for an appeal, what your potential outcomes are, and what the expected timeline can be. Please reach out if you are interested or have any questions.
